How to celebrate 150th Canada Day (in Penticton, BC)
Are you wondering what’s so special about Penticton? Well, This is our favorite city in BC. We visit Okanagan Area at least twice a year and sometimes more. Please keep in mind, Penticton is a city in the Okanagan Valley of the South Interior of The BC. It is located between Skaha Lake and Okanagan.
Do you remember our post about Beautiful BC? We shot this video around Okanagan and Vernon, BC area. This video will tell you how beautiful the area is?
Name Penticton came from a word in Okanagan language. Meaning is “A place to stay forever” or “A place where people live forever”.
Penticton is an active place. You can visit here year round. We have been to that area during summer and winter. It is always fun. There is no limit to activities you can enjoy there.
Some of the local activities are skiing at Apex Mountain Resort, boating and fishing on Skaha Lake and Okanagan Lake. There is plenty of golfing in the area in addition to hiking or biking the Kettle valley Railway Trail and rock climbing at Skaha Bluffs.
The Penticton Art Gallery is a not for profit, charitable organization. If you love wine, then Okanagan Valley has over 120 wineries within close distances.

Possibilities in the area
When we travel to here, we usually drive from Calgary to Banff to Golden to Revelstoke to Vernon to Kelowna to Summerland to Penticton. We have been traveling on this route since 2006. This is one of the best drives we have loved. Our guarantee, from Calgary to Penticton, you can stop anywhere and everywhere and can find something to do. In our last trip, we went to the city of Oliver, which is known as Wine Capital of Canada. There is Peachland, there is Summerland, there is West Kelowna, there is Kelowna. The are offers you unlimited possibilities.
One resource I would love to share with you is here. Anytime you plan to visit British Columbia, you should use this resource. Just for your reference, here is another resource for you which we used many occasions.
